How long does it take to set up an account? Orders can be set up in less than 5 minutes but not greater than 24 hours. Orders are set up on a client by client basis. Again, you will not be lost in the automated world of the Internet, and often times I prefer to speak with my customers over the phone to walk them through initial start up and business goals. How much do you charge for domain registration? I can register your .com, .net., or .org domains for $15 per year. However, GoDaddy.com has very good administration of domain names, so if you want to use them they are cheaper and can serve all your domain name needs. DO NOT get their hosting - it is a nightmare - but the domain name service is very solid. Can I host international domains? Yes, we currently have clients that use .ca, .il, .tc, .nu, .ve, and many other international domain names. Do you offer NT or UNIX plans? We offer UNIX web hosting accounts (Red Hat Linux). We do not handle Windows on any machines due to its overall instability and obsessive cost for licensing. If you see the words "Windows Shared Hosting" stay away! How do I access my Cpanel control panel? You can login to your Cpanel control panel at http://yoursite.com/cpanel where "yoursite" is your own domain name. Then you login with the details you receive at signup. What are the nameservers I must point my domain to? ns1.alnma.com How do I FTP into my account? First you must obtain an FTP program such as Cute FTP or WS_FTP. Once you have an FTP program, type in "yourdomain.com" as the host address. Supply your username and password in the according fields. Once logged in, you have complete access to your account. Is there a manual I can reference to use Cpanel? Yes, access it by clicking here. Of all the things to spend time and learn Cpanel is one of those things that will only serve and benefit you as a webmaster. I highly recommend to all my clients any knowledge gained about the Cpanel will quickly make you efficient and savvy at controlling your own online empire. Where are my statistics? Click the report button after logging into Cpanel and hit the Webalizer option. This will open a new window to Webalizer with all your statistics for that domain. Which folder do I load my web pages to? You should place all of your web documents in the public_html directory. This is found through the File Manager icon on your Cpanel. Can I have CGI outside of the bin? Yes, CGI will function in the public_html folder. What version of Perl comes installed on your servers? Perl 2.6.9-67.0.15.ELsmp. What version of PHP comes installed on your servers? PHP 5.2.5. What version of MySQL comes installed on your servers? MySQL 5.0.51a-community How long does it take for my DNS changes to update world wide? Normally you can expect to see your web site DNS to change within 24 hours once you have made the modifications at your registrar. However, I have seen it take up to 7 days in some cases where registrars and ISPs are a little slower. Usually, however with today's technology and the companies and resources I recommend it can be a couple hours. |
